Recommend brake pads
I am not to thrilled with the braking on my 105 equipped Felt. What can be done to improve the braking? Are there any aftermarket brake pads to improve performance?

Here come the Kool Stop recommendations. I just ordered two pair through REI (that's about all I could afford with my dividend).

Are those pads a significant improvement over stock?

KOOL STOP
Yep, I just installed mine on my Orbea. I got the black pads cause I couldnt find any of the dual compound on ebay. I bought two pair with shipping for like $16. I found my bike tire actually locking upand skidding...quite an improvement over the Ultegra pads I had (at least from what I could tell).

Kool Stop + ancient RSX calipers > Ultegra calipers and pads. I like the combo black and salmon pads.
(In my experience. YMMV.)

I guess the green ones are reserved for OCPer's?

I think the green ones are for ceramic rims?
I have the black Kool Stops, and they are a significant improvement over my stock 105s.

Before you upgrade anything, make sure your cables have the correct tension and even fiddle with the barrel adjusters. They can make a pretty good difference.

I also have a "105" equipped Felt. I was very disappointed with the braking performance. I just upgraded to the salmon kool stop pads (16 for 2pr on ebay) and there is a tremendous difference. Much better stopping power and less scraping/noise.

I bet you if you just swapped out the cheap generic pads for someone genuine shimano ones you'd notice a difference. I've never had any problems with braking using both old single pivots or modern dual pivot shimano calipers if the pads were good ones.
I have dual pivot 105 right now with shimano ultegra pads and they stop me with extra braking to spare.

Not sure what year your Felt is, but many of last year's models had generic/Tektro brake calipers even though the rest of the components were 105, Ultegra, etc. I've read several mixed/poor reviews about these relative to the Shimano brakes. If this is your situation, you might think about upgrading the brakes themselves, not just the pads. If not, then the Kool Stop crowd has your answer, I think.

You can always buy the new calipers AFTER you try them and put the KOOL STOP pads on the new brakes. The pads are worth a try!

Ride it like you stole it
+1 on the Kool-Stop. Depending on when you ride you have two very good choices. The black Kool-Stop pads if you ride mostly in dry weather, they work when wet, just not as good. The salmon Kool-Stop pads if you ride alot in the rain, they wear a little faster than the black and stop just as good when wet.
You could also look at the 105 brakeset, it is dual-pivot and will have some awesome stopping power with less effort than Tekro/Cane Creek brakesets. Or look for old stock Ultegra 6500 brakeset, it also is a dual-pivot design and about as cheap as the new 105 dual-pivot brakeset.
