Touring the USA
I'm starting a tour in April next year and am expecting to be gone for 6 months riding around the US visiting 48/50 states (not doing Alaska or Hawaii). I know I want to visit some national parks and some weird places (heart attack grill and mad scientist cafe come to mind ) but i don't have a lot of places to go in-between my parks; so I made a google Doc and made it public so I can get people to tell me interesting places to go so during the winter I can start planning my actual route. Here's the link to the doc, any ideas you guys can add are appreciated as I'm sure many of you have a lot of interesting places you've been to in the areas. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Speaking of WEIRD, Salvation Mt and Slab City on the southern end of the Salton Sea. Out and back from Westmoreland or Calapatria. April would be perfect. Low desert and too hot much later.

I still remember my first real road trip(car), out to the Black Hills of South Dakota and back through KS and MO. I totally agree with Carhenge. I'm planning on being back by there this summer for the first time in close to 15 years. Can't wait. I also can't wait to hit the Corn Palace:

...definitely the corniest place on the planet...planning on stopping by there on the way home as well.

A photo with Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox at the Trees of Mystery in Klamath CA is pretty much required if you are hitting the west coast of Northern California. https://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/p...?pic_id=696044
