WTB: Unique mountain bike 20-ish inch

I'm looking for a non-big brand vintage mountain bike that can get me 74cm c-to-c and 70cm mid-saddle to bars, usually around 20 inches of seat tube.
- No trek, specialized (not interested in early stumpjumpers), schwinn, cannondale, diamondback, etc
- I'll look at anything from framebuilders like Weigle, Potts, Merz and Ritchey to rare production stuff from Miyata, Muddy Fox, Kona, etc
- Feel free to PM if you like to keep secrets

@gravelinmygears

That's quite an ask, there are a couple of Ritchey's on CL here.

You might want to include early Stumpys since they come up a bit more often and make great placeholders.

You're squarely in "cold dead hands territory here" so good luck.

Definitely not interested in stumpjumpers. Plenty of those around.

I’ve found that a lot of the “cold dead hands” folks eventually want something different.

All true enough and they do come up but like the Ritchey's in Hillsboro, the price of admission is usually way out there and Merz only made a dozen or so.

There was one more Ritchey on CL here until now, it may have sold, I think it was the same guy as the others, prices always seem to be in the $2300-2500 range.

I might have a chromed KHS that I have been unable to find anything on...literally nothing.

As someone on here said, will ride like a Cadillac from the 70s...

I am assuming you want high end though...

for poops and giggles, google KHS High Sierra I think...

Some bikes are worth that. I had a mountain bike offered to me this morning for $5k. It wasn’t worth that much to me but it is to others.

Add early Breezers to your list. That Fisher Montare for $285 is awesome, in my opinion. Ritcheys, as mentioned; that Commando one is off the charts cool!

Of course they are to the right person, so any interest in these Ritchey's up here, I'm up to facilitate if need be?

My first 2 Merz road bikes were pretty spendy, many here thought too much so but I gladly paid the ask and was happy to do so. When I was at Sellwood cycles looking at the 2nd one, JM027 that he built for himself, I was down on the floor getting a ground level perspective when I looked up and saw 2-3 other people looking and waiting to see it, I stood up, wheeled it up to the counter, paid the money and went on my way, could not believe my luck.

thanks! Yeah. I’ve tried to make an 18 work with all the mtbs in that size but I’m just too tall. I’m more on the 21 inch side of large if that makes sense. 34 inch inseam.

I’m picky about Ritcheys. I’ve had a couple now. Not into the camo and the team is a 19.

Seems like the last early Breezer for sale I/we saw was $5-6k or more and I know the later ones aren't the same league but they are pretty nice, there may be another one still at a shop that I saw quite awhile back, should call or go back and see.

If your looking for some interesting older MTB's you can add some Colorado built bikes Barracuda and Look to your list.

It's a Porsche. I think this model came out in like 96. I saw it in Mountain Bike Action or one of those mags, and was in love with it. They were way out of my budget back then.

Way overpriced?

Here's one with no bids opening at $100.

https://bustedknucklesauctions.com/p...orsche-bike-s/

Looks like MSRP was $2250 in 98

This may still have the elastomer handlebar mounts.
