Rear deraill

I have a FX4 with a Shimano RD-RX812 rear derailleur that has an adjustable chain tensioner for different terrain.
What kind of terrain is applicable to the "on" position?

Thanks

Offroad in general, bump stuff. BITD we had to make sure the chain was in a certain ring before bombing downhill and coasting over bumps was loud. Not anymore. The clutch is adjustable, remove the cover and adjust the tension screw.
