2003 Stumpjumper vs. 2008 Trek 6500 Disc
I'm not sure if this would be one of those dumb questions, but I'll ask it anyway. I have a chance to buy a demo of last years Trek 6500 HT for $500. I already have a 2002 or 2003 Stumpjumper basic HT.
From what I understand, after a number of years the technology on higher end bikes gets put on the lower end bikes, so, in theory would the 6500 be a comprobable (sp) bike to a 2003 Stumpjumper, or would since I used to a higher grade of parts, in general, notice the lower end parts when I am riding and maintaining the Trek?
If this is dumb, and I should already know it. Let me know too and I will go away peacefully.

Knowing what components are on your Stumpy would make this easier to answer. If you have a link to your Stumpy(if it's still on the site) and to the Trek, it would be easier.

I know the profile of the Stumpjumper is more low as it was a entry level racing bike, Is the Trek a more relaxed fram gemotry as it might be a more casual trail riding bike?

I'd probably stick with the Stumpjumper. If you're gonna "upgrade", upgrade more than that.
