Dang is the UAE ITT 90 miles? That's what's on our Arizona roadie hero's Strava, might be some warmup?
Maybe ITT is tomorrow, I haven't been paying attention 'til now.

Apropos of nothing ... always amazed at the 'logistics' behind even a relatively minor 'tour date'. Last night the Canadian band City of Colour (Dallas Green [formerly with Alexisonfire]; might be known in the U.S. for his collabo with Pink some years ago?) performed at our little Budweiser Gardens. I counted six full semis, and four large tour busses. So much work in so little time: arrive; set it all up; perform; break it all down; leave. Then the resident crew has to put the ice back in shape for a Junior A hockey game this afternoon.

when I fell yesterday I felt a sharp pain in my ribs area. I kept going and didn’t really feel it during the rest of the ride. Now it hurts randomly when I breath, but I also feel pain in my back, adjacent to where my rib pain was. Certain movements make the pain in the back really sharp, and sometimes when I take deep breaths I feel the pain in my back too. No visible bruising. Thoughts?

Is there a hotel close to CTL that you like for a quick stayover? Will be landing at midnight and leaving early in the morning so don't want to Uber far.

Home2suites is my preferred. It’s right out side the exit. Keep in mind Clt charges uber drivers like 30 bucks, so it will prolly be close to 50 bucks one way. They do have a shuttle though.

Here is the story the electrician gave me this morning. But first the back story. This is the guy who tests for current with his thumb and forefinger. He has connections inside the national electric federation and can be very helpful at generally sorting things out. On my way to the office, to report a failure, I stop by his house to get the wheels greased. He always tells me he will come down and see what’s what.
This morning he pulled the cover off the main breaker out at the road, and then pulled? the meter. I wasn’t out there some can’t be sure. He comes in holding a mummified iguanito, and tells me this creature shorted the meter, which then shorted one of the phases on the transformer up the street (he had noted it, and photographed it on his way down). He told me this happens all the time. He told me the main breaker is in bad shape— might last three days, or might last a week. He’ s going to the city this afternoon and can pick one up. $38. I ask how do we avoid this in the future. We seal it, but we have to get permission to seal it. $15. I’ll come by tomorrow morning around 8:30 and install what I can, and do the seal when I can. $80 all included.
At the office this morning, they told me they would send someone out this afternoon. The power came back on at 11. I can only presume that he made a phone call and told them where and what needed doing.
As far as the sequence of events that shut down the power to the neighborhood, I have to say it sounds sketchy, to me. But it’s fixed and so I’m going with it. Thoughts?
And it is indeed true that a report can be called in on a cell phone, but it has to be attached to a landline. One in one thousand? Ten thousand? cell phones can fit that bill.

A little, but nothing significant really. Still pretty chilly (high was around -4C today), but not bad. This winter has, to this point, been a non-event.

Ours didn't either, especially after one was involved in taking a rider down. At the club board meeting, there was a big scene and the president quit and others swore they would never come back, even after it was decided to ban e-bikes.
After months a guy who was a long time member and long time racer got an e-bike because of heart problems. He just started showing up and kept it low key, so nobody objected. A few more regulars have switched to e-bikes in the last few years but these were all experienced riders and none ever caused an issue. This latest one is the reason the e-bike ban was instituted in the first place.

When I last flew out of CMH, there was a Fairfield I could easily walk to, and a airport parking lot adjacent. A great idea.

Ha, speaking of E-bikes. Yesterday during the race, there was a point that bottle necked, and this e-bike was stuck behind me. He was huffing and puffing and cursing under his breath because he couldn’t get around me.
I don’t get it.
