Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Today’s ride was canceled due to rain. I did an hour on Zwift instead, which was tolerable but nearly as much fun.

We are changing our EMR system at work from Allscripts to EPIC on 4/1, and tomorrow is my first day of training.

Try this one:

'In summation, let us posit that we have established the invariable relevance of three factors: a) an unconditional confidence in the divine supervision of the human predicament; b) a firm if rationally unmotivated expectation of a positive result from situations of a critical nature, and c) a supportive attitude of committed concern for various associates -- the latter being indisputably the item of paramount importance among these criteria at this point in time.'

We have used our current system since 2006, it's not perfect but at least it is quite familiar. I don't relish the idea of learning a whole new system at the advanced age of 58, but the powers that be have decided that is how we will go, so I will abide.

Or vote with my feet if it's really bad.

EPIC is pretty sweet, especially if you get tied in with payers that have the payer instance set up. It really helps close care gaps and increases coordination.

I almost always do the bulk of the research only after purchase, but before delivery.

Sorry to hear. I am for Zwift this p.m.

Ewww, EMR! Double ewww, training! Today my job as administrative muscle was to get hospital leadership to explain to the pharmacy why the nurses on our epilepsy monitoring unit shouldn't have to go through both a locked refrigerator AND a lock box to get benzos to stop seizures in agitation-prone patients with electrodes in their brains. I was hoping for food in the executive suite, but there was none visible.

Which will either sharpen your anticipation, or cause you disappointment and regret in advance of ever even opening the box.
