Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You can use a 1/4 drive 5/16 or 8mm socket or a 6 point end wrench. Or Vice Grips, of course.

I just use an 8mm end wrench. When wrenching in the rain, I'd be happier with a ratcheting end wrench though.

Luckily I didn't have to mess with that at all tonight.

It's new battery time anyways, as the two batteries in question are an El cheapo Walmart battery from 2017 and one without a date on it that came with minivan #2 when we bought it about 3 years ago and looks pretty aged.

I will echo this. The first set of wheels I built are still going strong. The only one I've had problems with is the one where I used used, and questionable spokes. A Covid wheel. The spokes I needed weren't available new. I also likje to be able to use specific hubs. You can't do that with store bought wheels. But genejockey should buy this set.

Did another race tonight. This one was short, like 4.2 miles. Came in 3rd, but ZwiftPower DQ'd me for "W/kg". First time THAT has happened! In fact they DQ'd the first 3, so the guy who came in 4th 'won'. I can't complain, because I've 'won' that way. I guess I should start riding the C races and start hating racing because I'm always getting dropped.

How do you figure? It doesn't work that way @ Fomoco, they're as expensive as any other automobile.
Cheaper to manufacture doesn't translate into cheaper to buy...it translates into higher profit potential.

It's a Porsche. Cheap It will never be. But I agree with your statement anyways. I'd love to stuff a 6.2 litre turbo Cadillac engine and trans in it just for the looks on the purist faces.

It does if they're trying to gain market share.

I don't think this is realistic, or at least not realistic compared to current conditions. I rode a section of the Pacific Coast Highway this past summer, and if this happened today the kid would be road pizza within 30 seconds.
