Circa 1970s Zeus
As previously discussed in appraisal forum I am selling a Zeus for $800 plus shipping. My father purchased it from Vinsentin's Bike Store in Oyster Bay Long Island sometime in the 1970s. If interested, please PM me.
Dimensions
Rode it 1 mile from the shop to the train station, derailleurs and brakes work fine. However, it has not been seriously ridden in a number of decades. It has been stored indoors suspended from a padded hook on the front wheel. I am selling it because I have no room in my apartment and do not ride that much anymore. I will definitely not part out this bicycle. Sold whole or nothing.
Dimensions
- Seat tube: 22 in
- Top tube: 22 in
- Front Sprockets: 52 & 43 teeth
- Rear Sprockets: 25 teeth largest, 15 teeth smallest
- Down tube: 24 in
- Head tube 5.25 in
- Handlebar outer-to-outer 15.5 in
- Wheels: 64 cm dia
- Tube measurements are center to center
- Tubing: Durifort tubes and fork
- Brakes: Zeus 2000
- Rims: Mavic Championnat Du Monde sew-ups
- Rear Derailleur: Zeus Criterium
- Tires: Hutchinson Tempo 1, just replaced last year at Vinsentin's (yes, they're still there). Not sure why anyone would want the original unusable tires but I have them.
- Seat: Replaced seat with cheap no-name vinyl seat. Will include original but it too is vinyl and has cracked apart with age.
- All other parts simply say Zeus

I had that bike, in blue, a 1972 Professional. This one's probably a bit newer based on a few of the components and cutout lugs.

Neato survivor. Pure classic that has it all going on.
More significant as Zeus being one of the only to produce both frames and components. Enjoyed the photo link. Best wishes on the sale-
