I’m trying to lighten my load before a move and have put a few vintage bikes up on the local CL and FB Marketplace at what I felt were attractive prices.

Has the entire market for anything with 2 wheels and no motor gone that flat? I know e-bikes are popular, but???

Dropped off a cliff but some things still move and that is likely location dependent. In my mid-sized Midwestern city, old Treks and Cannondales still move at reasonable prices. Other bikes not so much.

I’m in what has historically been a pretty hot market (SF Bay Area), so I’m a little surprised to not see any interest, even low- ball type interest.

Aside from some very top-of-the-line bicycles, interest in bikes from the 70s has passed the tipping point, and I think also for bikes from the 80s. Supply vs demand, and demand has gone missing.

It takes time to sell C&V bikes. If you're in a hurry to offload before a move, it's not going to work.
I think the SFBay market is pretty healthy. Reasonably priced bikes move pretty fast. Link to your listings. Let's troubleshoot them.

The Trek 620 at $150 would have buyers beating a line to your door if it was a 21" and above frame. Smaller framed C&V bikes move really slowly.
The Centurion is probably just a tad overpriced. It's a beautiful bike but beset with a lot of scratches especially on the decals. Death by a thousand cuts

I can't really comment since I haven't bought a bike in decades and don't have a good feel for what this stuff should sell for, but I'm curious as to what others think. Don't worry--we know you aren't trying to sell them here.

I'd sell for super cheap (under $150) or rebuild with period correct (and good looking) cockpit and derailleurs. Remove the lower cage for pics.

Good looking. Trim the rear hub skewer. Mount matching tan walls. Clean and fix the bar tape.

Take it outside for pics. Wheelset, bar tape and cage placement don't do this bike any favors. I would probably part-out.

Good suggestions. The LeChampion also comes with the original Campy wheelset/tubulars, but needs tires replaced if someone wants to ride sew-ups.
I can drop the price on the Centurion. There are a lot of scratches on this one, but no dents on any of them.

With that Trek, I'd swap the brifters off for aero levers and friction shifters, drop the price by $20-$30 and then either use them on another project, or sell them separately for whatever they seem to be going for.

No suggestions on the others. They seem priced reasonably, but only a fraction of potential buyers would rather have them over a more generic, functional equivalent that's half the price.

Very far, you and many others are trying or thinking about downsizing, getting out, thinning the herd, etc, etc.

Its a double entendre, the buyers that used to be are the sellers now and most don't want to take a loss so its a big stalemate with prices in the crapper.

I never had any delusions of making any money back or otherwise, overpaid for many and also got plenty of smokin deals along the way.

Also recently reiterated to my son that he is to do whatever he wants with my collection (the pile), sell, keep, give away, donate, etc.

He knows how important they are but is instructed to do as he sees fit with them, entirely up to him.

These things become more glaring in a downturn, a challenge in good times becomes a deal breaker in tough times.

The sew ups are a good example, once worth plenty to the cognoscenti, now a scourge to most so they become a negative value wise.

NorCal is a rough market. Piles of old steel on CL with most at never sell prices. I had a Colnago up for about a year and a Masi for 6-8 months. And they were both in excellent condition. I just flipped a S-WORKS M4 and it was on there for nearly 3 months. There are a couple that I would be interested in but the prices are stupid and they've been up for over a year.
Seems most sellers look to fleabay for pricing but I have to wonder if that stuff is selling either.

Patience, drop the price on the Centurion and hold firm on the other 2; they'll sell.

Definitely dropping in the northwest. I moved 5 last year but also wasn't in a hurry so sat on them for quite a few months before they moved. The biggest price drop was maybe $100. But I also don't overprice my bikes either as some seem to do on CL and FB Marketplace. I have seen reasonably priced bikes sit out there for 9-10 months so it's definitely a market that has changed

You only have to check sold listings to see actual selling prices, go to advanced, check sold only.

Those seem like reasonable starting prices to me, do people in SF not bargain? I'm not sure I would want to start lower and then sell for a lot lower. Although maybe the Centurion is a little too high, even as a starter price. I think everyone that ever wanted a Centurion has one by now. But I did see an Ironman in the local Ironman.

There was a Moto Le Champion on CL for $150 with most of the original parts and it sold last year after a couple weeks. Then a Moto Grand Jubile with Campy derailleurs for $100 and that took MONTHS to sell. I would say the market is not so good - terrible. I recently sold my cherry all original 1977 Raleigh Competition GS for $400 on the bay (13.3% fee- my net $342) and it took a couple of months. I am selling as well . I sold a 1982 Medici in excellent original condition with matching pump , panto stem and bars , Super Record Components last year for 750 , I don't think it would sell for that now. I am selling my mostly original 1973 Mondia in really good shape and it is crickets out there. I really don't mind donating the frames and selling the parts but I will try to sell complete for now. Do not be in a hurry just ask what you feel it can bring or give them away. It is tough because I really like these bikes but if there is no interest .........

I saw a super mondia special for sale at 100, got bought and parted out. Saw a trek 760 for 60 had the campy post and was missing a rear wheel but... yeah. People and resellers are buying the crazy deals, and "fair priced" bikes with OEM equipment are sitting, and will be for quite a while I suspect.
Bought a bike a month for 3 or so months there were so many deals.
