tough break mschwett, really sorry to hear. Keep the Scott. Maybe with some time off (or very low), time with treatment and a re-set of body and mind may make you able to enjoy moderate amounts of feeling the wind in your hair out there

i don’t have to pee often, but when i do it’s a lot. i also don’t seem to need to hydrate as much as many people, but i also avoid really hot climates like the plague. drinking a ton of water or electrolyte drinks just makes me have to pee more and has never had any effect whatsoever on any health issues.
my typical medium length ride last year would be 50 miles, a couple thousand of climbing, and i’d bring one small bottle on the bike and that would be it. i’d hydrate a bit after, of course. for a 75 mile ride i’d bring that same small bottle but stop around halfway and buy something to refill it and maybe have another 12-18 oz of fluids.

I wish I could say I was like that, I just forget to drink when I ride and then it’s too late lol.

You have a point. I "crashed" twice on Zwift - once when my NDS pedal broke and came off the spindle, and another time when the NDS pedal pulled out of the crank arm (LBS, which has been otherwise excellent, seems to have forgotten to torque the pedal down properly after installing a new crankset. They fixed it at their expense).

Had a short but spirited ride this morning. Soon heading to Philadelphia for an early “Valentine’s Day” date with Mrs datlas including dinner at one of the best restaurants in Philadelphia.
We are going exploring before dinner, so of course I googled cycling places nearby and found what looks to be a relatively new “boutique” cycling shop and appears they are an Enve dealer. I am still considering a new Enve road bike (likely in 1-2 years) so will pop in and talk bikes if they are free.
Here is the shop: https://www.thegeneralclassification.com/

Your 1-2 year forecast keeps advancing. Seems like you've been saying that for a few years.

On my Kickr Snap, the gradient emulation craps out at around 10%, because of my weight - the poor thing can only exert so much resistance. Once the gradient goes above 10%, it still feels the same but I go slower. AND in the Canyon's smallest gear, I can only do about 250-270w, so if I want to do more power I have to shift a cog or two smaller. This means when I do the Radio Tower, I go about 3 mph, which is basically "falling over" speed.

Just test rode a top fuel. Man project one 9.8. The price I was offered was unreal. Unfortunatly, my wallet is empty.

The presenting organization - Salty Chimp Racing - are good guys. Professional and super fast. At least one of them will podium. There are several strong men's and women's teams that turn up for this, so it is usually well attended.
