FREE Gitane 21" mixte
This might not be worth shipping but I'm putting it out there for anyone who's interested. I really don't want to mess with shipping but might be persuaded. You're welcome to come by and get it.
If you've seen any old French mixte you know this bike. Found in the local co-op's dumpster and dragged home, it's a 21" framed Grand Sport De Luxe with metal fenders. Plastic Mafac levers (end of the right one broken off), very basic bike boom French ten-speed, your typical Mafac/Simplex/Rigida ride. Front rim has a tight wiggle in it that probably can't be trued out. I removed the rusted chain and cables but taped up the ferrules and carriers for future use. If it were a 23" I'd keep it but I have too many projects and don't know anyone who might want it right now. Let me know; I can use its hook in the garage.

Pedal to the medal
I'm not going to say I'm not tempted... distance and too many projects are keeping me away, for now.

It's worth it for the brakes, fenders, and handlebars.

Somebody please give this thing a home. I'd take it back to the co-op but it would just go back into their dumpster. Then I'd find it again...

A noble deed saving it and a noble effort passing it on. You deserve the best of luck finding it a good home.
I believe I have some Dia-Compe/Weinmann type upright bar levers from the period I can ship to whoever gets it to replace the cracked plastic Mafacs, if someone wishes to go about it that way.
