Hey all, really love these build offs, got a few bikes lately that would work perfectly for these Junker type challenges.
So @Narhay, is it that time again? Who, if anyone is keen?

I'm game

I've got a Bianchi frame for free and a couple dollar donor bike. That will allow funds forctires, tubes and a decent seat. I also have a $50 Prelude I need to put together.

I would be in! I rescued an early 80's Schwinn Voyager from the dump so I have a candidate.

Is there a deadline for this? I'm going to do a clunker challenge type build on the gitane but it keeps getting bumped. I have continued to acquire parts. Nearly there, or there plus, depending on how one views the parts stockpile.

Lazy? Na. I am stoked as junky bikes is my favourite thing, love building stuff that looks like crap yet rides very well, the Clunker challenge encompasses that totally.
Funnier still I got a Facebook memory come up about going back home after a holiday in Wellington with bikes on my Ute, when I was again in Wellington loading bikes onto my Ute to go home to Auckland(550kms drive) so a year and a day later, same Ute same drive, different bikes.

Did you ever reach a final adjudication on last year's bikes? Historically the write-ups of the judging have been as much fun as the entries themselves ...

Not yet. I keep thinking about it and then two toddlers takes up most of my free time. I will endeavour to do it.

Two toddlers is a LOT! It's fun, but it doesn't leave a lot of time for bikes - I remember when we brought our adopted son home in April and our daughter was born in December of the same year, and just how long the whole "eat, sleep, or shower - choose one, choose quickly!" dynamic ruled our lives!

Now I have to scout out a suitable contender for this year ...

I'm game. Bought a $20 1982 Bridgestone Spica for this one. Needed a new front tire and tube, and a bottle cage. Lots of cleaning and love.
