Of the major Italian builders, where would you put each in regards to hierarchy?

People just love to make lists. And rank things. What's better?
Who knows?
Oh right. The experts do.
I have only one Italian bike. So I'll say it. Frejus.

Ignore Function:
Did you know that BF has an "Ignore" function so the endless prattling of the smug, insulting and generally clueless can be rendered Blank?
Nice.
Edit:
Two in one day, this Ignore function really works well.
Is that the faint unintelligible sound of desperate frantic smugness trying to get an insulting and/or ignorant "last-word-in"?

This message is hidden because robertorolfo is on your ignore list.

Gotta love grown adults putting their fingers in their ears and closing their eyes when they don't like what someone has to say. Another great member of our society...

Yes...he worked under Pogliaghi. I've seen some pretty cool stuff they did...and some is quite distinctive.

I would not be surprised if, among the best builders, there is more difference between a bike built by one guy on a Wednesday and the one he builds on Thursday, than between builder A and builder B.

Amazing that a thread like this has legs to go on for six years. Many bicycles produced by builders of various nationalities that I like. Attempting to rank never results in agreement, and serves more as an exercise in "look what I have". I do appreciate seeing the really fine bicycles and learning some things about history that I hadn't known before, but ranking? Not so much.
Me? I'm partial to Guido, Mario, Luigi, Dominic and Sofia.

I would have a hard time ranking them, but I'm curious where people put Torpado. There's a 70's Torpado with full Campagnolo that has been in my local classifieds for months. I'm convinced nobody is buying it because of the brand.

#1 is Cinelli because I think it's the best riding Italian frame I've ever owned.
#2 is De Rosa because I think it's the second-best riding Italian frame I've ever owned.
#3 is Bianchi because the first halfway-decent frame I ever owned was a barn-find Bianchi.
#4 is everybody else because I have never owned or ridden them,
