Hello and thanks already!

I've garnered alot of advice from this forum already, so thank you! I am fairly new to road cycling as a hobby - after riding some friends bikes here and there I finally picked up one of my own. If front emblems are any true indication of the year, I bought an '88 Peugeot Corbier 10-Speed off FB marketplace - guy came across it from a storage unit purchase and seems to have just sat unused for years.

For reference, looks just like this one, but in black: bikeforums.net/classic-vintage-bicycles-whats-worth-appraisals/1167477-peugeot-corbier.html

It needed a good cleaning and a minor tune up, but overall was in great condition! Without completely disassembling the entire bike, I removed the components I could and thoroughly cleaned, degreased and re-lubed, as well as polished all paint, metal, wheels too! I am thus very, very pleased with the end result and ride.

However, that didn't quite scratch the full itch..

I have since picked up two more 'older' Peugeots needing a bit more TLC and plan to do full tear-downs / restorations, as I've found the process to be extremely gratifying. In fact, I already have them both completely stripped. I'm not looking for top tier frames to flip - I might even be working on what some here might deem 'worthless' of a restoration - but for me that's not the intent. I simply enjoy breathing life back into what might otherwise be discarded, or disregarded daily riders and hope to share those projects with other like-minded folks here. And hope to continue to learn more from you all!

Cheers!

Welcome from SE WI!

Do you have some emotional attachment to Peugots? Are you French?

Just curious.
