Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

7800 crank, 6700 front derailleur, 6620 pedals, and a toupe. Well, trying the toupe out. Prolly buy it.

As a suggestion I'd say try out the Romin as well before you decide on the Toupe. I have the Toupe on my month old Tarmac, and thought it was great. I mean, it still is, however I tried the Romin and... it's pretty amazing in that it is still comfortable even after several hours on it. Costs about the same as well. Romin SL model apparently has Titanium rails, other than that I have no idea what else is the difference to quantify the price difference o.O...

That looks like there are books resting on top of your steerer tube, hehe. Your Trek isn't boring, Madones are always pretty. I don't think I've ever seen a white saddlebag either... (personally I would have gone with a black saddle bag since it probably will be easier to clean as well as black bottle cages).

I am borrowing it from a friend, then potentially buy it. I can't afford a romin and unless I get lucky can't try one. Hopefully this will be good. It's the TI railed one.

How do you mount the battery pack to the bike (and where)?

I think the strap goes through the battery pack and then velcro's to the bike wherever you like.

Ordered these a couple weeks ago. They finally came in this week. I finally found the right size too.

Of course the irony is that after I ordered them I find out I have to stay off the bike and in one of these for at least 4 weeks hoping to avoid surgery :

recently got two things. one was the one of the most practical bike related purchases I've ever made, the other was one of the least (gotta balance it out)

You are going to love this. They redefine good rear lighting. Nothing comes even close to them.

One thing I can say is they sure have good service. I was a little confused about what to buy and sent them an email. Not only did I get a reply on Sunday, I got a phone call. Wow, that was great!!

I've been pining for this kit forever, but it was just too expensive to justify. I REALLY wanted the hat, but they don't sell it separate. So, imagine my surprise when someone who didn't know how much I wanted that kit after I got my BMC actually gave me the kit!

Silly & materialistic of me? Yeah.... But now I'm one happy ass cyclist!

Picked up two items a day apart.

1) Cyclemeter

This is a $5 iPhone App. I know there are several of these cyclometer apps on the market, this seems one of the better ones. Runs for hours if the display is turned off (I keep my iPhone in a jersey pocket).

A cool feature includes voice updates via earphones of mileage, elevation, or whatever else the rider might want to know (which is great if the iPhone isn't visible).

2) Garmin 500

Kool Stop brake holders w/ X-Pad. I kind of wanted swiss stops, but they were $10 more expensive for each pair...not worth it.

Pedros Micro Blow Out bag - for training rides when I don't want to lug around my big 'ol fuji bag.

Having not read all 72 pages of this thread, may I ask why it is not sticky? With the concern for real estate on page one, this thread would be one less to keep having to scroll by. Unless I post every new thing I buy, in which case, I'd have my own freaking forum
