Cino Heroica Shout Out For Lost Bike/Dickie from Scotland

Hi everyone, Alan Dickie from Scotland did several Cino rides on his orange Eddie Merckx. He left it in someone's hands to keep for him for a future ride. Well, he can't remember who that was! Not sure if it was Mountain Dave or another person. He thought maybe a Tim/Timmy? Anyway, it's an orange bike with black crank. I will try to find a picture to post.

Ether

Wow! That's really taking the Zero Bike concept to the next level.

Good luck with the search

Semi-Found! Alan left it with Reed Gregerson at Zane Ray in Whitefish. Took a lot of email searching but that is where the critter was last known to be held. Should be easy from there. Emailed Alan already. Now I have to plot a way to steal it after someone produces it! Ha!

Careful Neal, the zero bike algorithm doesn’t account for the square root of a negative number. This will result in all of a person’s collection to be imaginary.

My wife imagines that I have fewer bikes than I actually do.

If you've ever been in his bike cave, it's quite easy to hide bike in the various nooks and crannies. Heck, there's probably a half dozen stacked up hidden in the corner of the Wheel Grotto alone.

I've seen bits and pieces of the Cave, but can't recall the Wheel Grotto. Is it near the Shifter Abyss?

You really need a map to find your way around there.

No, farther back from that. The white chair is in front of the furnace; you go past that through one doorway and then to the right is the washer-dryer, a big cabinet full of bags and parts, a table with my ultrasonic and hot wax crock pot, an old desk full of cable housing, and a few other laundry-related things. To the left is the wheel grotto (which also still contains my homebrewing supplies, now untouched for over 20 years).

Who needs homebrewing when you have bicycles?

P.S.: Neal, do you have an orphaned, 36h, black 700C rim in there somewhere FS/trade?

I don’t think I do, but I’ll check the rim closet.

This thread is worthless without pics of that orange Eddie Merckx that someone left casually lying around in another country . . . .

Please tell me it's one of those Falcon branded Merckxs.

I like this "zero plus" concept. I keep lugging a bike cross country (well mostly lug to and from the airport) to do these rides and I've thought easiest solution would be just move out West but this might be more economical - sprinkle bikes all over - Montana, California, Arizona, Oregon. I'm probably going to bring a red Merckx to Cino, so maybe if the orange one turns up in good shape, I'll leave mine behind too.
