Tire damage opinions?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Other. It depends. If you are riding on clean smooth roads then run it out. I would replace only if had a big event ride soon or would be riding where failure could be dangerous. I have ran tires down to cords plenty of times, some in multiple places. I have never put a patch on the inside. Self stick patches are a temporary solution and I doubt it is doing much for you.

I move tires like that from my sport/rando bike to my commuter. Booted or patched on the inside, monitored regularly, should last a good while. No way would I take that out on a ride with terrain, speed, or long distance.

That's the influence of my mom, a depression era child. If I'm in a mood, I might pitch it like a normal person would.

My wife has asked me to replace tires for less that that. I’m not one to argue over new tires.
