Eddy Merckx project
So after years of wanting one I finally found one. I do not have the frame in my possession yet but here are a couple of pictures from the ad.
I am not quite sure how I am going to build it up but I want to do it right. I do have some dura ace 7400 parts on another bike that I might use while I build up money for the campagnolo parts I want to use.

Wow that looks amazing. It makes me even more excited for mine. I just built up a skrivan funny bike with 6 speed 7400 shifters and rear derailleur, after seeing yours I'll probably change out that bike and piece together the rest of the group. The ad didn't mention the model of the frame, any ideas? The brake bridge in the rear is a standard straight tube, not one of the arched ones.

I was following this on Ebay, you got a great deal! This was refinished in my hometown of Rochester, NY alone costing more than you paid for the frame and it doesn't look like the owner spent much time on it since, so kudos. I would have bid against you but decided I didn't like the colors.

It's SL tubing so Corsa then.
I honestly didn't think I'd get it for that price but I'm happy.

I believe Ugo built custom frames for Eddy before he started Eddy Merckx Cycles, and even helped teach Eddy the art of framebuilding and worked with the initial EMC employees for a bit, but all the Merckx frames I've seen are "Belgian Handmade", and I don't think Ugo would have approved of labeling his bikes as such.

BB and conjunctions are identical to those of my '87 De Rosa SLX though...

The stem is a 130mm. I got it from a local for a good price but before I wrap the bars I'll be doing a bike fit, to see if the stem is too long. If it is I've already had offers from people to buy or trade for a shorter length.
What's the difference between a corsa and a professional? The serial number is 5 M 2892 Z and the bike is columbus sl tubing, though when I looked it up on cadre it didn't really say which model mine was, because pre-87 the M could have been on several models.

edit. My guess is -- If you can easily get to the bottom of those deep drops, then you have the flexibility to reach the brake levers.

This is a fun bike, I will be keeping this one for a long time. I was able to get a short ride in yesterday and while I still have to slightly adjust the fit I really like how it rides. The longer stem fits fine though handles slightly different than my other bikes.
