I can't stand craigslist anymore. When I got into cycling in the early aughts, it was useful for both buying and selling. Now the bike section is absolutely overrun with people trying to sell cheap, junky bikes they've fixed up. 1-2 dudes have like 50 bikes listed. It makes trying to sell a bike impossible, as it gets buried so quickly. Argh.

New handlebar wrap? It looks lumpy and dirty. My grandma can wrap bars better than that. And that sure is some interesting non-aero / aero cable routing. How do the cables even survive that bend? And "gears for up hill ride". No kidding? What a novel idea.

I don't think I've ever seen a seatpost quite that exaggerated..

Even better, there's no seatpost binder bolt, and look at the fixing screws here. This leads me to think there's a rod or a smaller tube running from the BB shell up inside this alloy post and the screws fasten everything together.

Hehe, I missed that - too blinded by the thought of the clown show put on by whoever rides that thing. Now that you've pointed that out it just gets better.

That Trek 750 is worth the 45$ by itself if it is in good shape, those are identical to the same year 520.

New poster, long time lurker. I always get a chuckle from this thread.
Just wanted to say, I have had a few of my bikes pop up on this thread, (for "asking to much" or "ruining" vintage high end frames with new paint and nice parts) but I sold them all for asking price or close to asking price.
I think some people here have a sense of value about bikes taken from 90's garage sales.

Agreed. Perhaps the reason the owner didn't have time to rebuild is from being laid up in the hospital. That must've been a massive collision.
