Did you ride today?

Got just a smidge over 11 miles today. It was a little muggy, but good to be active.
Trying to get my stamina back enough to ride in a nearby area that allows me 20-25 mile rides. Much prettier area with little traffic and smoother roads.

Lunchtime errand to the Italian deli for my favorite mozzarella, prosciutto, and roasted pepper sandwich, espresso beans, bread, and other items. Tested out the Wald rack on Zizzo.
Then an afternoon fitness ride. This was the first day of the year where I felt like I was getting stronger.in my legs and lungs.

I was able to leave the house at 9 am this morning and ride for 21 miles. Blue skies and the temperature was 46 degrees at 11:00 am when I returned home.

16 miles today.
It was dark, and muggy, and windy, but possible severe thunderstorms are predicted for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, so I figured I'd better get a decent ride while I could.

Headset was binding a little when I first purchased it. Quick adjustment. Been through three sets of brake pads. Recently regreased the hubs. Wheels still true.
As the photo suggests, it's my in town grocery getter these days. Easy to store and, even with the panners and basket, pretty light to haul up and down he stairs to my basement.
Overall, it's been a great little bike. I recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable folder. My Bike Fridays ride more like full-sized bikes, but the Zizzo was cheap and not so precious that I'd be super bummed if it was stolen.

I was able to get out and ride a little early this morning. I left the house at 8:35 am and rode for 23 miles. The weather was nice with blue skies, and cloudless for the most part, the temperature was 43 when I left the house. I had added 3 extra miles on my ride, and I am going to try to increase it over the summer.

Another day I was able to get out early at 8:30 am and ride.
It was a just get out and get a few miles day. So my ride was only 15 miles. But the best part was five minutes after getting home it started raining.

We had house guests this weekend, so I got a late start, but if I'm being honest not really much later than my lazy weekend self manages when there aren't folks staying over. about 15 miles out the weather took a turn for the wetter. Got 25 miles in and felt raindrops just as I got home.

Another morning with an early start, I was on the road by 8:30 am. I needed to get out to start the month of May with some miles. The weather was lousy, overcast and the temperature was 44f degrees when I left the house. But I rode for 19 miles so all is good.

It's that time of the year where every 100 miles in the saddle tangibly improves fitness and endurance, where you can stay on top of the bigger gear just a little bit longer, and can stand on some of the short climbs.
Man, I wish these days would never end...

I'm still on my 1st 100 miles of 2024. I rode 15+ miles yesterday in sunny, mid-70s weather. Wind was mainly from the North at 15+ mph. Nit an easy ride, but very enjoyable and worthwhile. It was my 4th ride of 2024, and I'm getting stronger. I agree with John - it's great to feel the improvement.

No ride today (5/3)-if you're watching the KY Oaks horse race, you know why--rain off and on. Last ride was 5/1, nice day although windy. And I just seemed a bit "off". Haven't gotten many rides in this year, and maybe just need to fit more rides in, but just can't seem to get my "biking legs" under me! Using as much, or more weight when working out at the gym, but isn't transferring to biking. Had a good day on the hills a few weeks ago, not so much since then. But working at it! "Some days you eat the bear (hills?), some days the bear eats you".

I cleaned and re-greased my BB bearings then while I had the bike on the stand decided to take the day off and rebuild the rear DR. Ended up replacing the rear shift cable too. Headed into the house and the DW surprised me with my first pair of bibs. She got them in canary yellow to match my fave jersey. I couldn't wait to try them out so I suited up and put almost 30 miles in, no wind, but a soaking mist. The bibs were great. Felt like I could have stayed in the saddle for another 50 miles easily and the bike shifted like a charm. Hot shower and cup of Joe. What a great day thanks mostly to my lovely wife. I think I'll keep her

I decided it was trail time. I took the O&W (Ontario & Western) trail out of Kingston south to the hamlet of Alligereville, just west of the Mohonk Mountain House. A few miles on road then on the Wallkill Valley trail back north. 31 miles all told.

Lightly wet at times, but took the long ‘commute’.
On a PNW windy Spring day, ya only need a 2 hour window to stay moistly dry.
A regular stop, if only for Hope.
Be colorful.

I moved back to Colorado from Tucson last week and am getting acclimated. I've been on a couple of 30+ mile rides, one in the foothills with 3,300' of climbing. I hope to get higher soon but spring weather in the Rockies keeps interfering. There's still fresh snow coming in up there, and extremely high winds (80 mph yesterday).
I'm back at work at a non-profit bike shop that takes donations of old bikes and turns them around for people who need bikes. Once in a while we get a nice bike donated and we sell it as a fundraiser, to keep the lights on. I just bought one or those for myself, a 2012 Specialized Tricross Elite Disc, to replace a heavy Fuji gravel bike. The new bike ticks all my boxes--it'll take a rack for touring, and the compact 2 x 10 drivetrain has a low gear of 34/32, plenty low for road climbing in the Rockies. Riding the lighter bike up Lookout Mt (an 1800' climb in six miles, easy grade) I got most of the way up before I realized I was still in the big ring.
I turn 67 later this month and, weather permitting, will Ride My Age with a group of fellow geezers from the bike shop. It's easy to do that on the MUPs around Denver. I also have a similar urban bike path century route planned for later in the summer.

Been riding around the neighborhood for the past few weeks when weather and time permits. Took a couple quick pics. Got more of the bike than the road. ~24 miles today.

I left the house at 8:20 this morning. I rode 11 miles to the senior center. I played whist, had lunch then back on the bike for an 11 mile ride home. I have attached a picture of the enclosed porch where I like to sit and wait for the card games.
