Suburban Cowboy
There's been some interest in Schwinn Suburbans lately so I thought I'd share my latest acquisition. It's an early '70's Suburban that I found through Facebook Marketplace. It was only a few minutes away and a reasonable price... I couldn't resist. Here's photos:

The backstory is another Schwinn I have: a burgundy Super Sport that I turned into a lightweight 3-speed town bike. I thought it would be nice to have matching fenders and chainguard for this bike. Knowing what I know about old Schwinns, I knew Suburbans had painted fenders and chainguards to match. The plan was to strip the Suburban and leave the balance to a local co-op.
When I got the Suburban home I realized that, aside from rust and corrosion, it was complete and in decent shape. It would be a shame to strip it. So I'm going to clean it up, replace the tires and grips, and use it for what it was intended.
I still don't know what to use for fenders and chainguard on the Super Sport. Maybe some nice Honjo polished aluminum fenders would work.
