didn't know they made (or branded somebody else's) fork ends, but like Tange did they made some contract forks for OEM brands...Tange made LOADS more forks, though.
Ever see ishiwata dropouts?
I have not, yet....

What's a BF thread about Ishiwata without some Ishiwata tubing bike porn? Crummy pic of my bridgestone RB-1

My Trek 614 has an Ishiwata fork (the apparently dreaded ccl crown one) . I'll have to see if it's stamped on the dropout.

One of the early (cutout individual letters) Trek 022 Ishiwata frames, this one a 510 that has been stripped, had braze-ons added and a rattlecan ("Titanium"!) paint job.

SCI 022 custom for tandem. Interesting story on how the McCready's went out on a limb to acquire this tubing. Out of privacy and if ever willing, I'll leave that for them to share.

That is one classy, understated bike. I really like it. Is that a Stronglight crank?

^ yeah, that crank was on there when i got it.

really nice bike. it had long stays for a rack/pannier (or just comfortable riding), but a shorter top tube that made it feel rather sporty.

too bad i can't keep them all.

You mean you got rid of it? Too bad, it looks like it would fit me.

I have no idea. Which is why I thought I'd grab this opportunity and ask. I know the frame was built in Belgium, and that Ishiwata tubing was fairly popular over there. I've also been told that these tubes are 'oval butted CrMo'.

My Canadian market low-mid range 1980ish Apollo Prestige came with an "Ishiwata 012" sticker which doesn't match the known numbering system, either. It's a hi-ten tubeset as far as weight indicates. It rides well enough but isn't exactly light weight. I took a pic of the sticker before turning the bike into fake Legnano velo-cheapo entry, but I can't find the pic for some reason.

My 1982 Bianchi Limited has "Bianchi Super Set Cr-Mo double butted mixed guage etc Ishiwata" indicated on the seat tube and Ishiwata 022 stickers on the fork blades.

tunturi professional

Tunturi had them built for them with shimano 600 arabesque group. I considered finding one as they were not very collectible.

No pics but I had a Japanese Bianchi, 022 model with Campy dropouts, tight geometry, no fender braze-ons and chrome sox. With a 6 speed Sprint group it was very close to 20 lbs and rode like a dream. Miss it bad.

I just bought an Ishiwata just like yours in the photo. Do you still have it? Would like to talk about it.
