Today I did a three mile loop!
My loop began at The Point Loma Nazarene College. I just live a couple blocks from there.
.
As soon as you enter the campus, there’s a spectacular view of the ocean.
.
And a statute of Pcad imparting wheel building advice to RyanF.
.
I cruised past the out door amphitheater.
.
Then I began my descent. (Note slacker walking his bike up hill).
.
These poor kids have such a terrible view from their dormitory.
.
Then through the canyon.
.
To the final descent.
.
Heading north along the cliffs.

To the final ascent.
.
Last look over the shoulder at the hill I just climbed.
.
Home sweet home.

1-Thank you! Those pictures bring some hope (of the better days to come), in the middle of a gloomy winter day in the North.
2-How many laps?
3-Cool sculpture at your home.

Great pics! Reminds me of Pepperdine when I took my kid there for a college visit. I rode in a dark, sweaty spin class today. No pics.

And only one lap. I actually wasn't on my bike. This was more of a walkumentary.

Has coddling tendencies.
Speaking of scenery, here I am passing the Hyperion water treatment plant in El Segundo yesterday.

I want to go to college there. That is a pretty sweet campus. Beats the hell out of my school, who recently spent close to 1 million dollars on side walks the don't match other sidewalks and a big jumbotron sign that constantly breaks down. It is Arkansas after all, you can't really expect them to love the natural world or anything like that. Our Official build policy is: if it is a living thing, it needs to be covered in blacktop.

Two or three years ago, about this time of year that trail had to be at least half-covered with beach sand.

Has coddling tendencies.
Speaking of sand, I had to do a thorough cleaning after the ride because of the salty fine grit that covers everything after a beach cruise.

Today Simplify and I did a 47-mile loop with 4000+ feet of climbing. It was 81 degrees and sunshine. Here's some photos.
Japatul Road. You can see two more of about a dozen climbs in the distance.
Japatul Road.
Lyons Valley Road. Simplify is on the far curve.

From the Skyline Truck Trail.
Skyline Truck Trail, San Diego Metro in the distance.

My first time out on the Great Western Loop! It seemed so hot, actually may have been warmer than 81; the climbs were tough. And tonight, sunburn! What a great day.

You gonna eat that?
I used to ride that all the time in the 1980s.

San Diego is so pretty! I walked through that campus onetime as well. My friend remarked she honestly thought about closeting her atheism for 4 years, and going there--it's simply that gorgeous!

I would have loved to go on a ride today. Unfortunately, San Diego State doesn't believe in federal holidays and I had to go to class today.
