It's wet paint to be sure. I can't be certain it's Imron - or maybe I just don't know how to tell exactly - but it is reminiscent of some early 80s Trek bikes I've had that I know were Imron.

Hello,
Great looking Limited! Love the paint job.
Just curious, how certain are you that it’s a 77? I have a 76 Limited & the serial number is 76L???. There have been others posted on the forum with the first two digits being the model year. BTW, head badge stickers are available from Velocals.
Sorry, don’t have a picture of mine handy.
GLWTS!
Cheers,
Van

Senior Ryder 00 is correct - with that serial number, its from 1975. But whether its from 1975 or 1977, it's a beautiful bike. I bet it rides very nicely as well.
alexihnen , out of curiosity, what 1970s/80s American-made customs are you looking for? I'm not in the market (buying or selling), just curious. (Plus this is a good way to bump a bike that deserves to be ridden.)

Yep - just transposed it incorrectly. I have it as a ‘75 in my records, which the serial number clearly shows. Thanks for the correction!
Let’s see…Kvale, Nobilette, Bock, Merz, Redcay, Della Santa, Isaac, Keith Anderson, Mooney, Columbine, Holland…stuff like that. There are many I’m forgetting and others I haven’t heard of that would be interesting.

Absolutely. I rode a restored Davidson for a while. It was great, but probably a size large. I have a 55cm Impulse that needs restored.

Considered Ed Litton? Perhaps too late for you. Left Eisentraut to go out on his own '84. An artist with the metal and one of the best Imron painters out there. '83 he straightened my Mooney's fork while with Eisentraut. Next summer he repainted the Mooney with its brand new replacement fork (sent bare steel from Belmont, MA. A treat to look at!)
That paint job - single color metal flake, no clear coat (my money was tight). Absolutely perfect except one tiny pinhole inside the right chainstay at the tire. Never found it again after the first ride. Ed charged me way to little for a paint job that went 38 years. It was pretty beat up at the end, but every scratch, scrape, and chip was hard earned.
Ed's also one of the good guys in our bike world. A pleasure to do business with.

Was not Bruce Gordon building these for Albert early on?
these were marketed as painted with Imron way back. The paint looks original to me.
the upper headlug has received more attention than the later bikes.

Yes, Bruce Gordon was one of the builders of Limiteds. If there is way to tell if he built a particular Limited, I don't know what it is. I have heard that BG primarily built touring Limiteds, but that is at the level of rumor as I can't recall the source for that. Ed Litton might know; he did not build Limiteds (he actually learned from Bernie Mikkelson) but he was good friends with Bruce Gordon and remains friends with Albert Eisentraut, so he might have some insights on that.
