Darn it! I already booked a room at Alameda's in anticipation of this but now it looks like I'm not going to be able to make it this year. Too many prior commitments.

Registration site looks nice, much simpler and all is bundled.

Now I have to figure out if I can go........I am already going to montana for major class reunion (to get a flavor for which one when in marching band we were excited to add current song, Jerimiah was a bullforog)
I am all ready in the dog house for this trip in July, so adding another in Sept?

on the other hand I have time to get in shape, especially as I recently "got" retired.

and there is also the opulence of lodging in Hot springs to savor

Well this was going to be the year to do it for me and I even have leave scheduled. But....that dang but... Four straight days of riding has shown that my one knee is still not right. Pain throughout the ride and still not flexing right. I'm holding off until the next visit to the VA in May about this. If I get good news I'll look into it this year. The Team USA is chomping at the bit to do it and the Holdsworth is another candidate with some gearing changes. I so want to get up there to finally meet all the other forum members.

It's looking like this might be the first fall I may not be an elementary school teacher and could make it out from Minnesota. I'd love to ride Cino this year or soon.

A fine stinky French frommage covered in corrosion. A great place to convince your spouse to never tag along to a Cino ride again!

I hope that the knee gets better. If not, you can always drive up and volunteer.

That's the other kicker right now. If I'm in the car for around an hour it kills me. And I've got an earlier trip to north of there planned and am wondering if I'll be able to make the drive. Hopefully there's a recovery breakthrough soon!

I don't think I can make it this year. My heart and head are saying "boo hoo." My legs and lungs are saying "thank God!" The sag drivers are saying "well, that's one less carcass we have to drag in."

I do plan to be at the other September C&V fest, though. You know, the one in Cambria with the threads for people to not complain about it . . . .

I’m signed up and will be turning 48 on the second day of the event. I’ll expect one of you to tow me on that day.

Actually really looking forward to this as I’ve never been to ole “Montaner” .

Who is riding what? Help me decide what to bring, even though I’ve already decided.

Knee sleeves eventually helped on drives a lot when both my knees were jacked up pretty bad, left one has been jacked up for years, the right one finally got tired of carrying the load and decided to chime in and join the party,

I have 3 sets and swap them around a bit, thick serious ones from Costco, Copper fit, thin Copper fits and another set that are kind of in the middle.

I mixed and matched on a couple of long drives with ok to good results.

I now ride with a thick one on the left and a thin on the right most of the time, don't need them much on drives now, YMMV.

The bad news is that my "prior commitments" have evaporated due to illness in the family. However, the good news is that I will now be available to attend Cino. So now, the question is what bike to bring. I've ridden Cino twice (actually one and a half times) on my silver Cinelli Speciale Corsa with skinny tires and once on my chrome Ross Mt Hood MTB (which is the only device that I think can ride all the way through the moon dust). I'm leaning towards the Ross again this year. Waddaya think?

1974 Cinelli Speciale Corsa

While sitting on the side of the road massaging my heat cramps out I took a picture of my bike:

Sorry to hear about a family illness, hope that resolves. Vote for completing the cycle on the Cinelli. Unfortunately I'll not be able to attend, but due to a much better circumstance of being in Europe at the time...

If I remember correctly, the Cinelli tried to kill you and the Ross decided to become a single-speed. Is there a third option?

I'm sorry to hear about the family illness. This "life on the material plane" thing sure has its downsides.

This year's theme is 'made in the USA'. Most American companies transitioned their frame production abroad in the 80's, but some smaller, independent companies held out for a while longer. We have a handful of Cino stalwarts who maintain the tradition of beautiful custom bike builds in Montana and Washington. So...bring your classic American steed, road or mountain, and we'll make a toast to craftspeople who keep the art of the custom build alive!
Dave, if you bring your Ross again, I'll bring mine-- assuming I can squeeze in the Cino-approved, and soon-to-be-traditional, 33.3mm jack browns. Together with Ross presumably riding his Ross again (I see he's registered), we can make it a quartet of Rosses (Rossa?). Start adding gears now...
