Conversion: Nishiki Prestige - Need some recommendations
I wonder how many people clicked on this thread thinking I turned this into a fixed gear?
I bought this near NOS Nishiki Prestige a few years ago for my girlfriend and she hardly ever rode it because she just couldn't get used to drop bars and toe clips. She preferred the super heavy, but always reliable Schwinn Varsity. Well I finally decided to either convert the Nishiki into something she'd like or sell it off. I put on some "city-friendly" bars, put a rack on the back, and removed the toe clips.
I still need to add a few things. I need to find some nice grips for the handlebars. Can someone suggest a nice porteur rack that isn't gonna cost me an arm+leg? With a fence is preferred and wood bottom is an absolute plus, but not required!
She'll be using the bike to commute to school, but also ride around the city.
