Need Raleigh Paint Help

I'm looking for a paint that matches the old Raleigh "racing green" type color.

I am trying to clean up and get this old Raleigh drum Drawn Tourist back on the road. I've tried a couple different "hunter" green paints and none are right. Has anyone been able to find a commonly available color to match this? The last time I had paint mixed it was brutally expensive and did not match very well anyway, so I'm hoping someone has been down this road before and adapted some kind of solution.

I took a Kool Lemon Schwinn to the hardware store once and found a reasonably good match in the color chip rack. The lady mixed me a batch of enamel for $12. It wasn't exact but it was pretty close.

I have a Mercian that's British Racing Green like that. I wanted to paint a Silca pump to match and found a Rust-o-leum color (pint can) that was an almost perfect match. You could also try Testors model paint. Buy a dark green and lighten or darken it with white or black to match. BRG also has a little blue tinge to it.

No luck with Rust O Leum Hunter green or Dark Hunter. No luck with Duplicolor Racing Green either- all either too light or too blue.

Take it to a Auto Body Paint supply, they can match the paint. Never match wet paint to cured paint.

I ended up going to a local paint store and having them match it using their machine. It seems pretty close, better than the last time at least.

Hey there

I was wondering if you had any luck over the years to find the right kind of paint for the bike as im looking for this particular color too. I started trying to restore a 1961 Raleigh Superbe recently.
