The 7 year C&V update : Bridgestones, 650b Portage, 3Rensho

hello C&V it's been 7 years : i had a kid, sold most of my bikes before moving from brooklyn to portland OR . been slowly building back up the stable of bikes . included are : 1993 Bridgestone XO-2, 1985 Raleigh Portage 650b, 1985 Miyata 1000, 3Rensho Super Record Export 650b, Colnago Superissimo. the wife’s bikes are a trio of small Bridgestones: 1994 RB-T, 1992 XO-2, 1988 T700 650b

it felt mildly sacrilegious doing a 650b conversion on the 3Resnho but it gets lots of riding setup like this and i can always convert back easy enough to the original in the future.

lots of great deals out here in the PNW. also terrific deals on C&V parts on craigslist and at the local bike co-ops.

I'd probably poke you in the ribs for doing that to the 3Rensho, but otherwise that's a versatile stable of bikes that will see many fun places. Cheers.

Do you have a rig for the kiddo?

sure do : we use a Bullitt cargo bike for hauling stuff and the kid rides an Islabikes 20" sometimes we strap the kids bike to the cargo bike.

Welcome back! We've got several Portlandia members, when the weather/pandemic improves we should put together a ride. I'm in the nether regions of SW Portland (Garden Home).

They’re all beautiful but the Portage is the one I like best in the photos. It looks like such a great traveler. Thanks for the 7 year update.

Kids can certainly change your ability to ride for awhile. Good to see you came back to it.

Love the purple XO-2, perfectly set up.
