Nice - and what a coincidence, we just had a new one put up last week. Our garage is only a single and a half but the new door is exactly like one of yours. Great minds think alike.

I don't see how this arrangement would work for a tandem. You need to get a contractor in to remodel your garage so you have a double garage door, instead of two singles. That way you'll have a nice clean backdrop for a tandem or bent.

That's the primary reason I've held off acquiring a bent. My wife doesn't cotton to riding bikes so a tandem isn't in my future. A coworker took an incredible 7 week tandem ride cross country (Seattle - Wash. D.C.) with his wife a couiple years agol. He's now divorced.

.Yes, the room above the garage tends to get too cold in winter. They're R factor 14. Together with additional attic insulation and a new heat pump the top floor should be much more comfortable.
