1983 Serotta Club Special frameset
1983 Serotta Club Special frameset. Paint is a very nice candy apple red. Spot of corrosion on the bottom of the downtube. Less than typical amount of chips and paint loss. Decals are typical early Serotta water transfers; downtube decals is good, the rest are aged and should be replaced. Nice crisp panto's, with infills. Looking for value opinions; for sale here, and general Ebay market. Frame is 63.5cm seat tube.

That's a really tall drink of a frame. But, it's Italian. And pretty. If you want to sell it fast go for about $150. If you're not in a hurry go for about $395. Be good. have fun.

When did Ben Serotta make frames in Italy? That frame is most definitely NOT Italian. $150 is a giveaway price. I'd say $400 would be a quick sale, but I'd ask about $650.

I apologize for my ignorance. I did not know. But you are right. In the third picture above there's a "made in USA" sticker on the seat tube.

Limited production US built bikes and frame sets from the 80's and 90's seem have come up in value lately. This one is about as good as it gets I would put the value at $500-600 to the right buyer.

Nice looking frame - love the fork tangs! If it was my size (way too big), I'd pay extra because of the Bicycle Exchange decal; a reminder of bygone days when Harvard Square was more diverse and eclectic and less corporate. Agree that $150 or even somewhat more is a giveaway price, but given the size it might take some time to find a buyer.

I would agree finding a buyer that wants a vintage n+ racing frame this big at the top end of the price range may take some time. You could try listing it here on the BF's there's a good chance someone may be interested and you will only need to pay the membership fee and avoid the hassle and fees of ebay.

Interesting wrinkle; I had been told of the story about John Kerry donating this bike to a charity auction where one of the previous owners purchased it.
Well, upon listing the framset on Facebook, the first two posts were from the mechanic that assembled the bike, and the bike shop owner who did indeed sell the bike to Senator Kerry.
Weird.

If that was priced at $150, I would buy it and hope I'd grow into it. $450-600 all day long
