Bikes: A Blue One and 2 Green One's, then there's the Yellow one. And oh, yeah, a Black One. Did I mention the Red One?

I ran into a pile bikes and frames last year and have been making up whole bikes from what was scrap. I've been completing them and kicking them from the nest for several months now. I'll come back and post some pics after I meet the standards.

I owned a red version of this Dyno model. I put a 7 speed Nexus hub in it which made it much more rideable on city streets. It had the noisiest chain guard ever on a bike. I eventually put sticky back velcro strips inside the chain guard and that tamed the noise. Never could get the seat to be comfortable and eventually sold this bike and bought a recumbent. Still have the recumbent. Bike was very enjoyable on short trips.

Hello everyone!
Regular at the C&V sub forum but brought this cruiser home tonight and thought I would share it with you. I believe it to be a 2010 Schwinn Riverside. Looks brand new under all the dust. It appears to have carried its rear DR into the stays and fender, rack struts some time ago. Shop did not want to deal with it so the price was free.
Plans... clean, wax, relub and try to move the hanger back into position. But really I want to explore the world of SA IGH drum/ gear.
As found in the storeroom.

Thanks! It sure caught my eye when I dug it out of the backroom. It’s presently stripped down to frame. All the parts are in the project box with the frame wiped off. Wax will come next as I am in coastal Flatlandia.
I can confirm this is a 2010 model year. There was still tape and plastic caught in the tight spaces where the box store put it together.
The hanger is twisted and bent down but looks to be save worthy. The headset is pitted from excessive tightening and no grease at the factory. The fender undersides are lightly painted so need a good recoating. The seat tube has a seam where the sides were joined together so need to smooth that down before the good seat post is used. Wheels are looked at tonight.
Will report on progress with pics when I can!

Good clean bike with all its parts. I think you have the basis for a fine bicycle with very little outlay. Looking forward to your progress.

Holiday delays but making progress re: Schwinn Riverside cruiser.
Wild fenders I pulled out of the scratch pile complete with all hardware. Maybe this summer I will install them.
Switched the BB using an old style Ashtabula spindle set up so I could try this Schwinn Approved crankset.
Old Suntour dr, 13-32 freewheel with spoke protected, hub spinners, alloy seat post, new grips and Suntour shifter. More to go...

Some more progress. Left to do, chain and cut housing and run cable. We still have some 60 degree weather to look forward to so eager to roll this around my town till it turns ugly.
These cruisers are big bikes!

Hello All,
Here is my Paul frank Cruiser from 2006.
Im wanting to add some fenders but it seems Nirve no longer sells them. Any I dead on what to use? I would use WALD but really dislike the hardware.
I did see some ELECTRA Fenders is Matte finish that might work.
What do you all think about matte fenders on a gloss black frame?

I’m having the same question with the Electra fenders I got for the black/ creme frame Schwinn I’m almost finished with. I think they will be fine. The graphics certainly help my decision.
Should be finished with the Riverside beach cruiser by tomorrow. Weather calls for 64..68..70 degree days for the Wednesday through Friday with no chance of rain. Can’t wait!

$198 for this little cruiser, all the usual department store bike issues , but not bad. They never have enough grease in these causing premature bearing failure, took the crank one out and it was missing 3 of the 9 bearings (no big deal, they are $3.00 a set). Got everything greased up, tightened up, and tuned, and it's a nice little cruiser, handles well and the tires are very grippy in the wet. Has great fenders to keep me dry, and I like the look of it. I have put a lot of miles on these cheap bikes, if you go through them at first and keep up on the maintenance they last a long time, very easy to work on, parts are cheap and they require no special tools. Just don't be in a hurry to get anywhere. :-)

^^You are so right about going through these bikes before doing any real riding!

The cheapness of these bikes is hilarious, you're basically getting something to tinker with, or a frame kit. The tire on this one went flat sitting in the house, the valve came un-glued from the tube.

“ or a frame kit” spot on! I was tearing past Wally World on a delivery and stopped to look at the row of bikes they have in the Xmas outside area. Saw your exact bike there. If cruisers weren’t so plentiful down here on the coast I might have been tempted...

I put some good tubes in it, it's nice and quiet, and for my 2-5 miles on the trail across my street it works fine. I actually like the look and vibe of the thing better than some quality bikes.

Another Good Cheap Cruiser
Picked this one up on discount for $150, it had a dented fender (not using it anyways). 7 speed and v-brakes to boot, after tuning and greasing it's very smooth, comfortable and stops very good. Nice ride with the 26X2.125 tires. The welds on the frame are very good, and this one seems to have a little beefier aluminum rims, and they're true! It's the Huffy Lock Land.

Changed out the Bayside stock tires to Schwalble Big Apples, I noticed about a 15-20% better efficiency in this bike, and the ride and handling is way better. Out for a little 29 deg. 4 mile ride, love the fenders this time of year with all the mud, leaves etc.stay nice and dry.

Not particularly a Cruiser bike but gets the job done around beaches. I weigh around 250lbs and it holds me perfectly.
