Other than the official Eroica rides on Saturday and Sunday, are there any plans for a BF C&V group ride?

UN-official Saturday Morning Vintage Ride , From Velo Cambria to Cayucos . DEPARTURE TIME is at 9 AM from Velo Cambria and headed south to Cayucos to the Luna Coffee Bar. Feel free to get to Velo Cambria early for coffee and to check out all the Vintage Bikes before we leave.

Round trip is approximately 30 Miles ( 15 Each Way) on Hwy 1 to Cayucos. Luna Coffee is 84 N.Ocean on the Cayucos main street on the Left hand side.

There are a few long steady sloping uphills but nothing steep. The Shoulder is pretty wide and smooth. Vehicle Traffic is not an issue.

The L'Eroica NOVA departs Cambria at 8 am with a stop at Cayucos and a 2nd Departure time of 9:30 AM , so there should be no conflict with the Official Event.

Feel free to Contact me for more info.

I'll get to the upper San Simeon SP campground noonish Saturday. Anybody at the campground likely has stuff but I will have a tool assortment and repair stand available at C21. My plan is to ride (with lights) from there to the 6:30 start. We just got a break in the morning showers so it's time for a little ride to see if something breaks on my Eroica Bike.

Is there such a thing as a C&V group campsite, or someone with space to share? I don't have a reservation and the campground appears to be full...

Nope, a few have said they might be able to help but they were few. I would encourage you to nail whatever you can down stat, step up if need be.

Bart from the Los Angeles area has reserved a Air BnB in Cambria that weekend . He offered it up for Eroica riders to stay there. You might want to contact him. Heres his screen name.

Everyone is very excited.

Picked up a Buffalo Concor for 20 bucks at the swap. Met Brad L in real life and he was pleased with a snag of some NOS something or other. At Moonstone Beach meeting some folk that are wearing big smiles as they predict slow going up the climbs on their old bikes. I love this sh;!

Do swap saddles today for a ride tomorrow?

NO!

I'm sorry, I meant to say in a calm controlled voice - I don't think you should. New contact point stuff at the last second before an event ride is a dangerous idea. Please don't do it. What it the thing is an ass-hatchet for you? Do a Nancy Reagan - just say say, at least until you get home.

That would be NOS C-Record levers for my upcoming De Rosa build. At $60, I couldn’t get the cash out of my pocket fast enough.

Man, a guy loses a bet and disappears from BF rather than pay up.

@Schweinhund, if you're listening, I'm still waiting for that $5.

If I hang here anymore I'm going to beat someone's posterior. In person. (not the butcher of portland, you never made me as angry as Kontact someone did.)

Well, it's a lot harder to predict the weather, or at least the amount of precipitation, when nlerner isn't around.

Not here to complain about the organization, but...the Eroica website has seen some changes/updates, and California now only shows a Nova Eroica ride, not a Classic ride in the events listings. I don't know if that's because next year is still in the planning stages, or if it's because of a shift in what they'll offer in the future.

Looks like Spring and Summer 2024 dates for other Eroica rides are confirmed. The CA Nova link has only info for the Completed September 2023 ride.

Bob Minsky has ridden several Eroica's worldwide, and volunteered at them as well, enough so that the Italians have adopted him as part of their circus. When I asked him about Eroica Californai 2024, his reply was "My sources tell me that Eroica California is definitely happening, both Nova and Classic. The dates are not yet confirmed, that will probably happen some time in January." He also mentioned that they're shooting for a September timeframe.

So hang tight, should know in January if there'll be an Eroica California in September.
