Me too besides the tubing, the color was another reason why I bought the frame

That’s nice. I had a ‘96. It was my first MTB with a front shock and v brakes. I was in heaven! Mine was green with an LX group. I bought it in DC and 6-7 years later I left it sitting in my front porch in Richmond for 15 minutes and someone took it.

I am sorry to hear that. I never leave my nice bikes out. Once a long ride is finished, they are going back to the garage or the cellar

Nice. back in 97, some buddies convinced me to join them in a 24 hour mountain bike race. I bought a red Hoo Koo. I don't have the triple butted sticker; I wonder if they had changed by then.

I'm going in a slightly different direction with my rebuild. The Hoo Koo will be a rolling lab experiment.

Have fun with your build.

Nice build, pretty sure your is a true temper frame too despite being non marked with the True temper sticker . On the diagonal tube , you should be able to read under the made in the USA the mention "with True Temper OXP Platinum ". Nice color. I will have fun for sure, thanks .
