Clicking noise in 3rd gear Shimano 3cc hub 3 speed

I think I know the answer, but is it normal for there to clicking while pedaling in third gear of a Shimano 3cc 3-speed? It's normal for the newer Shimano Nexus hub, but I want to be sure it's also normal for the 3cc. My daughter is taking it out to California (not riding it though) and I'll tackle disassembly of the hub if I have to, but if it's normal, then I won't.

Shimano 3 clicks in 3 per design. There are some more exotic ones that dont click, but i doubt you have that one. What does 3cc mean?

In 3s hubs, high gear overruns low gear so you'll hear the low gear ratchet click.

You don't hear clicking in low and middle because the high gear ratchet pawls are withdrawn so the lower gears can take over.

Thanks. Good question. 3cc is the model number of the hub. It was a predecessor of the Nexus.

Dumb me. I thought it was 0.10oz.
