Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My beloved Indy Fab Crown Jewel

Hey there, sorry for the double post, I'm new here! It's great to see so many sexy bikes out there.

I HAD a beautiful custom Indy Fab Crown Jewel (that I built!) that was stolen in February. As you can see, she was built with Dura Ace 9 speed and a Chris King/ Open Pro wheelset. She's a pretty unique gal with the star fade paint job and the blue-purple color that's not a standard option on IF's, so I'm asking you all to keep your eyes out in the slim chance that this bike is out on the road in your part of the world.

Thanks much and happy trails!

BTW, sorry for the bad picture- it's all I have right now!

Here's my SOMEC. It's a 1992 Dynamic made of Columbus EL. I rescued it from ignominously being some hipster's fixie. It was made for one of SOMEC's pro teams back in the day. Full 10-speed Chorus Groupset, Record Hubs, Ambrosio Excellight Rims. Even with a steel fork and a boat-anchor of a saddle, it weighs 19lbs.

However, the fork will soon be replaced with a carbon fork and a threadless headset.

Custom built 3ANGLES steel frame (Columbus Zona). Now with continental Gatorskins due to the fact that the paselas were too sluggish.

In that case, I think someone needs to rescue it from you.

I like how the seat tube and seat post match. It looks awesome. If you get a carbon fork, it would be cool if the head tube matched also.

Wow, it changed color! Must've crashed through a rip in the space-time continuum and switched with your bike from an alternate universe.

Here's my first modern road bike:

Added eggbeaters, Bontrager Race Lites, and a computer. Now I need to get a new saddle (the SM Ponza is terrible!), and fine tune the fit a bit and it should be good for quite awhile.

oh snap, just realized that my front wheel was backward in the pic. doh

nice bike, but...

Sure, you have a nice bike. But... you don't have a white garage door.

i find it a great all round bike although i have taken the fulcrum wheels off to release funds for a set of lightweights and replaced them with some dt 240 and dt r1.1'

i got a deal on the frame and fork £700 so a bit off a steal as full retail was double that.

to be fair all the bikes ride well the pedal force seems to be my weapon of choice at the moment, the bmc is to nice to take on club rides so i use that on my own as with the merlin, my orbea is feeling neglected maybe i will take her out tomorrow

Here's my 07 Tarmac Comp. I don't recall the brand name... Other than the AC350 Sprint/Ceramic/Sapim wheels, it's pretty much stock for now.

I love it so far. Just picked up a new saddle too so it feels much better, can't wait to start doing some longer rides.
