Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

FYI, the owner of this bike had written previously:

"You are correct on the tape. It has been fixed as has a couple of other things like seat height and such."

My first road bike. New to me 2007 Trek 1600. All stock except that it had a Shimano Flight Deck installed.
I'm ready to ride the s**t out of it.

It's got these on it for now:https://www.nashbar.com/bikes/Product...200410__200410

That way I can ride the 10 blocks to the gym without having to take a a pair of shoes with me.

Thanks, the bike was 4 years old but barely had any miles on it!!! I was lucky to stumble over a great deal, and as a broke student I didn't think twice. I went to my LBS before buying the bike over ebay and all they could offer me in the same price range was an entry level aluminum bike with tiagra components.

Silly. Post away. This is not a contest. I am sure we all ride bikes for the very same reason despite of which bike.

I just looked at it. It does not have a brand to it. One of my LBS uses them to display their bikes. I thought it would be kind of useful, so I had them order me a couple. I think they were like $25 each or thereabouts. I like the Ultimate ones with the arm behind the rear wheel much better, but since these ones have been working and doing the job I have not replaced them.

Thanks. I liked the PF. It was a very good frame. A friend's wife is making good use of it now. The frame rivals many much more expensive frame with flashy and expensive paint jobs.

I can't possibly understand why anybody would be interested in how tall I am. What difference does it make! Let's just say I am tall enough for my my bikes and all the rides at the fair
