I was about to pick up an Ikea Sladda bike in the adult size for a mere €60 ($65) today but it turned out the seller had mixed up his listings and gave the wrong bike to another buyer earlier this week. Talk about a bummer, I was looking forward to getting my hands on one of these and giving it some love with dynamo lights and some slightly better brakes.
This ill-fated 2016 bike used a Continental belt drive... which ended up snapping on some bikes. Kind of an issue on a bike with a coaster brake in the rear.
At least I managed to score a silver Shimano Deore LX DH-3D72 dynamo hub earlier this week.

The beginning of the light setup arrived today;
A SON taillight and lots of small parts to hook everything up with fancy connectors and coaxial cables. Since I want to mount it on the Focus adventure rack I needed some sort of mount for the light.
My first thought was to use one of the many Supernova taillight mounts but since shipping from the US was at the very least €21 ($23) this ended up being a €40 ($45) part...
Then again, there is also the stainless steel Tubus mudguard holder for about €6 so why not try that first.
The €65 ($70) SON rear light is a fancier version of the €15 ($16) B+M Line Small but uses an aluminium housing, coaxial cable and has sealed all the electronics in epoxy for better waterproofness. And it comes with a surprising amount of small parts to hook it up in a lot of different setups.
I also ordered a bigger ultrasonic cleaner but that one hasn't arrived yet.

I just received this NOS Selle San Marco Rolls saddle for my 1987 De Rosa project. Yellow saddles are difficult to find, and nearly impossible in this condition. This has a 1990 date.

I'm pretty close to peak bike junk, but this 170mm 94bcd crankset snuck in.. The drive side taper is sucked in a bit. The previous owners description was a little vague, but he did note that the bottom bracket that he included was not ISO..

Phil Wood retaining rings for the Suntour Vx bottom bracket on my ‘84 Fuji Touring Series V. The original rings require a special tool which is virtually impossible to find. Had to use big Channel-Lock pliers to remove them (after soaking two days in Kroil Oil).

What IS coming?
I just got a valid notification from Australia Post that my item is clearing customs at JFK. The tracking info said it weighs less than a kg and sent from New Farm, Queensland.
I have no idea what this is. No clue. Checked my purchase histories at the usual places.
Since I don't drink much or atall, it's not a drunk order...so, ahh, dementia order?

When I flipped my bro-in-law's threadless stem a week or so ago, not having a torque wrench suitable for bike torque ranges, I used a 10-inch long socket wrench with a suspended 8lb dumbbell to torque the bolts (5/6 * 8 yields about 6 ft lbs of torque). Still, I thought maybe the proper tool was in order. This arrived from the big river outlet yesterday. Told my BIL to bring his bike back and i'd cinch his bolts up proper...

Nothing classic or vintage but they will wind up on a vintage frame soon enough. Miche hubs and a nifty fold up tool pouch for under the saddle.
