Raleigh Stem Shifters To Downtube Shifters
Considering swapping my friction stem shifters on my Raleigh for more convenient friction downtube shifters. It seems I should be able to mount a set of clamp on shifters, like pictured,
The downtube has a stop for the cable housing that should work with the shifters. Am I thinking correctly?
Any other advice?

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

No problem with this change, as long as the clamp diameter matches (as it probably does)
You won't need housing except for the same loops you're currently using at the other ends.

I was wondering about cable housings. No extra housings makes it easier.

Yep, this will work. You'll eliminate all cable housings except for the one from chainstay to RD.

Suntour ratcheting downtube power shifters were my favorite, back in long ago times.

Don't toss the original downtube cable stops. People are often looking for those to install barcons or STIs on vintage bikes
