Bruce Gordon 80s Advert

I was at Dale Saso's recently and he had this advert, which he graciously allowed me to take to scan and share online. I'm surprised that Bruce was able to print this, the paper is a nice stock and must have been expensive. The bike in the background is pretty interesting too, looks like a mountain bike which he didn't make many of.

I know of two BG lugged MTBs. I rode with Bruce and his then-girlfriend Sky Yaeger (I think she was a product manager at Bianchi then) and Jacquie Phelan, in Crested Butte, probably 1985. Yes I'm a big fat name-dropper, so sue me.

BG and Sky were riding matching MTBs, which of course were exquisite. Bruce was adamant that he was on vacation, not there to sell bikes, so to the many people who came up to him all like "wow Bruce Gordon makes MTBs now? Tell me about X Y and Z" he would reply "I dunno anything about it, I just bought it because it was blue." He and Sky were using fake names, chosen from characters in "Lake Woebegone Days". Jacquie and I were cracking up but we didn't blow his cover.

Did he make more lugged MTBs beyond those two?

According to an interview with Sky Yaeger on The Pro's Closet, he made less than 10.

Great article, thanks for the link. I guess it shows my memory is faulty though, since I remembered him saying he bought it "because it was blue", where it appears it was actually pink! Dunno how I could have forgotten that!
