That raises the interesting (to me) question of, what's the most efficient packing method? Discard the rim, and put the hub+spokes rotated all parallel into a large enough shipping tube? Hub in a small box, spokes in a tiny shipping tube?

Not interested in the wheel, just geometry.

My spoke supplier puts a bundle of spokes in a plastic bag and then puts that in a bubble envelope. I think that's about as good as you can get. So this is not really a problem.

Literally "saved from the dump". A POS trunk rack sitting there with a shopping bag tied on the side. Seemingly no one looked in the bag. It contained a couple of bungee cords, cargo straps, unopened tube patch kit, a pair of barely used white Christophe toe straps and a pair of chromed toe cages and this. I've no need for it so Pay it Forward.





I was able to zero the trip meter but could not test the odd as there is no band. You'll have to figure out what size is needed. You'll see that it does have the wheel attachment which looks like it clips into three spaces between first spoke crosses. Just the thing for your Gitaine or Moto restoration, eh?

Will fit in small USPS flat rate box.

Oh, there was also a nice Performance wood handle, dual head floor pump sitting there. Works AOK and the gauge is accurate. Not a bad "Saved from the dump" day.

Earlier this week I posted some things that were going to the scrapyard from my co-op. I pulled out a few "for parts" items that may help someone out. These are two Shimano shift levers that I saved. Free for cost of postage, Probably $5. Smiles, MH

As I continue to try and clean up here in the shop I have a pair of fenders that were take-offs from a Trek 720 touring bike that had frame damage from a front end crash. They are taking up space and nothing here is in need of fenders. Free but cost of shipping probably about $20 but less than a pair of new ones. Same old rules, first to PM is first in line. I'd never heard of Kaga before (apparently neither has Velobase), so you get to do your own research on this extremely rare rim.


The rear spokes are sorted left v right, but you'll need to pick up a couple at your LBS or co-op.

Does anyone want - Shimano 105 brake set, crank/chainring, front mech, cassette and rear mech - for rebuilding an old bike??? And is this the right forum? Took the pieces off an old broken carbon fibre Trek road bike frame and have no use for the components. Seems a waste to junk them into landfill. You can have the wheels as well.

- Front and rear mech. Shimano 105
Cranks. Shimano FC-1055
Chainring. Cassette.
- Front and rear rim brakes, and levers. Shimano SLR-S (? or SLR-5?)
