Mine was a mid 90's Diamondback Topanga, I rode that bike all through middle school, highschool, college, and I still have the damn thing in the garage. Finally upgraded to a new Kona Kahuna!

here is my first mountain bike in its current state
here was my second mountain bike. still have the frame but i don't think it will ever see the road again. i am pretty sure the bottom bracket will be impossible to remove since the frame is aluminum and it has been there for nearly 10 years.

My first in it's present state- after 18 years there are NO original parts. I have a FS these days, but this is my old school kinda ride and I still love riding it. Steel frame.

this is the best photo I could find. early 90's? Gary Fisher Wahoo, as you can see, full rigid, gumwall tires, heavy frame, plastic cassette gaurd thing. it was a fairly cheap craigslist buy as kind of a test to see if I was as into mountain biking as I thought I was. I rode it for about 6 months and although the bike was small, outdated, and would leave my arms completely numb after a ride I loved it. Never had any problems, upgraded to strappy pedals, made all my noob mistakes and it took whatever I intentionally/unintentionally threw at it lol. I really didnt want to sell it but that was the only way I could justify (to the wife) to get another better one. Held on to brand loyalty though as I ended up with a new (to me) GF Marlin with upgraded bomber fork.

Cool topic for my first post. My first mountain bike was a 1993ish Giant Boulder. When I turned 16 a couple years later I upgraded to a 1995(?) Iguana.
