SR Suntour XCM 30 fork service

Hi,

I have the SR Suntour XCM30 fork on my bike and I just serviced it some days ago. I discovered the stanchion has some brown (rusty color) scratches. I have attached a pic which you can see.

1/ How to clear those scratches? Is it dangerous or time to change the fork? Can I still ride with it?

2/ The spring has been stuck. It does not come out if pushed from the bottom. Why is this?

Thank you!

You might be able use a soft scouring pad to sand / smooth those scratches out.

Maybe spray some WD-40 to maybe loosen the the stuck spring. Plenty of Youtube videos on servicing these forks, maybe one has experienced the same issue.

i have already reassembled the fork and greased. I didn't sand it. Can i still ride it? Im planning to change it after riding 1500km.

For the spring, I did use wd40 but in vain.

Sure you can ride it. It's not a structural issue, just a functional one - the fork isn't going to fall apart, it just won't work well.
