$1000 OBO 1989 Suntour Superbe Pro 8 Speed Group
SOLD! Staying in Texas!
Selling my very low mileage Superbe Pro 8-speed group consisting of the following parts:
Crankset 170 and Italian bottom bracket
Front derailleur (braze on)
Rear derailleur
Downtube shift levers
Headset
Front and rear brakes and brake levers (rubber lever covers in very good condition)
Front and rear 32 hole hubs with skewers
8-speed cassette
Chain
Pedals
most parts were NOS when I built up my Zullo with the group. From that time to when I rebuilt the bike with 11-speed Campy, the bike was ridden approximately 1000 miles.
The 8-speed Superbe Pro was the last iteration of this great component group, rivaling the 8-speed Dura-Ace of the same time in precise and sublimely smooth shifting. The brakes were no slouch either. The contemporary Campy was a couple notches below in my opinion, having all three 8-speed brands still.
If you’re looking for that near perfect, component group for that late 80s/early 90s classic steel frame and don’t want to spend the time to track down all the parts, here’s your chance.
The photos below were taken when I deconstructed the Zullo. Email me (James at James-Delgado dot com) for additional and current photos.

Here’s how I came about the 8-speed SP group price for those that have messaged me and think the price is not realistic.
$150 - Crankset 170
$75 - Italian bottom bracket
$85 - Front derailleur (braze on)
$125 - Rear derailleur
$125 - Downtube shift levers (indexed)
$100 - Headset
$125 - Front and rear brakes
$125 - brake levers (rubber lever covers in very good condition)
$185 - Front and rear 32 hole hubs with skewers
$150 - 8-speed cassette
$50 - Chain
$85 - Pedals with large clips
If anyone thinks they can get the above 8-speed group, in almost NOS condition for $350-$450, please send me the information and I’ll gladly buy it!
