openbuild-approach for creating a (mini- workbench) lathe ...made out of 80/20

hello dear community

hi there - dear friends

one little question regading the toolset:

found some interesting ideas regarding the tools : an openbuild-approach for creating a (mini- workbench) lathe ...

i need a mill and a lathe found the openbuild-approach and like it very much - well there are several nice things out there

and this interesting thread: 80/20 benchtop lathe build
https://www.cnczone.com/forums/verti...1-cnc-cad.html

Well I had such good luck building a mill using good parts with 80/20, that I have decided to go the same route for a small production lathe. I did convert a 7-12, but with less than stellar results. It is the backlash, general flexing, lack of motor power that directed me to just build new, rather than try to upgrade the 7-12. It is a much better manual lathe than it is on cnc with stock parts. ........
and just see the images

btw: regarding the Bike-Frame-building - see the frame-jig - that is designed by thanner w and made public here - it is build in 80/20 Extrusion .. see Bicycle Frame Building Jig
well i am interested in all thing openbuilds - and look f orward to a fruitful discussion - are there any approaches for the lathe (a work bench lathe ) ... out of 80/20 and perhaps a mill ... etc. out of 80/20
Look forward to the discussion

update: btw found this - which is very sophisticated
