Baltimore Tour Dem Parks, June 13th

Just a reminder for the 8th annual Tour Dem Parks, Sunday June 13th. This tour makes stops at many of Baltimores finest Parks, proceeds benefit the parks, greening projects and bicycling.

Great hope to work it. If you go let me know, perhaps we can meet. I plan to go to the Honfest in Hampden after.

Anyone go?? I was working the heinous intersection @ Windsor Mill rd and Gwynn Falls Trail. I believe the organizers were pleased with the turnout. They even ran out of T shirts but still had lots of food and excellent beer, Brewers Art!! Weather co-operated, if you consider 90F and 90%RH good. Better than the T-storms predicted yesterday.

Charlie, my husband and son were there - riding a tandem (my son is 8). They got a rather late start (probably close to 9:45 - 10ish) and did the 25 mile route. I was unable to go due to a prior comittment...but they had fun. Jim said the turnout was good - the beer was cold and the dogs cooked just right.

Had to skip it. Some old friends were in town and I needed to be home and cleaned up by noon.
Did an early morning local ride instead.
Maybe next year.

Hi Ellen: Haven't seen you around the BF pages lately. Glad to see your husband and son did the ride again. I saw a few family tandems and tag-alongs. It' s nice to see families on the streets of Baltimore. There were families riding w/ roadies riding w/ fixies riding w/ commuters riding w/ newbies. All of our cycling family was well represented. Hopefully you can make next years event or Tour du Ports fall ride.

Shame you missed. Especially Brewer's Arts beers! There's always next year or the Tour du Port in the fall. Keep an eye out for Baltimore's Cyclovia. Folks are talking 12 miles but we'll see. Biking in Baltimore is really gaining ground.
