Diamondback Sorrento - suspension fork to ridgid?
I bought a new DB Sorrento to use mostly as a hybrid, size XL (22"). I removed all the original junk steel parts and put on Deore XT stuff I had on an older bike. I still have the original suspension fork that weighs a TON! Can anyone suggest a lighter aluminum non-suspension fork I can swap to so I can reduce the weight of the bike? I really don't need a suspension fork.
Also, how do I figure out what size would I need to keep the overall geometry the same?
Thanks.

I prefer cromo forks to alu ones - it's a more forgiving material that survives abuse better.
As for finding one, take a look on ebay.

+1 on the cromoly fork, better ride and longer lasting perhaps.

Wouldn't steel forks be as heavy as my suspension fork? Or are they much lighter without the suspension guts?
Also, how would I choose a chromo fork size-wise?
