Tripleizer Details (as best I remember): by request
I posted this picture a couple of times in various places, and squirtdad asked for more details. So rather than hijack another thread with my aimless wanderings, I thought I should start a new thread.
Well I bought the 3 chain rings on line, I want to say Peter White Cycles in 48, 38, 28 tooth sizes. The 38 middle ring was a tripleizer ring and the 28 is a 74 BCD. I slapped them onto the existing DA7400 crank, and loosly test fit them... everything was perfect. Then I torqued the crank bolts down, and the 28 dug into the chainstays as the square taper snugged up. The BB was a 119 mm, so I went on line looking for an italian BB that would work for me. I ordered a 122, but no joy.
(EDIT: I forgot about this, I tried using beer can shims to space out the right crank arm by applying to the square taper, but this was a little too cludge-y for me, and unrelieable as the bolts got tightened.)
I thought about ordering some 1 mm BB spacers, but I was afraid that the little bit of clearance might not be enough, and Eroica CA (spring 2020) was fast aproaching. The only other one I could find was a 127 cheap-o cartridge BB, so I ordered it. I slapped it in, and the inner ring just cleared the outer portion of the chainstay. the Q-factor is huge, but I am pretty much not effected by that stuff, and a fitter once wanted to add 12 mm of pedal spacers to each side, so I figured "OK, no problem".
left crank arm is WAAAAY out there!
This got the inner chainring off of the chainstay, so I figured good enough. I could probably improve chainline, but it works.
I tried to get a picture of the chainline, but it is pretty hard to see
I tried to picture the gap betweenthe chainring and chainstay here
The only other thing that I had to do was file out the FD hanger slot a little to allow the FD to slide a little lower, so that I could get it to shift onto the 48 reliably. You can see the mangled paint of this on the first picture. I think my freewheel is a 14-28, so here is the Gear chart.
It took a bit of tweaking, and I still have to be very careful to avoid big-big (you would thiink it was easy, right? not for me) since the chain cannot be quite long enough.
Comments and questions welcomed. Oh yeah, I am going to go down the coast (Tourica), and I was going to bring this bike to Cambria, but now with the postponement, I figured would only bring the bike I am using as a tourer, and simplify my week. Look for me next spring (yeah right!)
THe only other difficulty I can think of, is that the left shift lever barely has enough cable pull to shift to the big chainring.

Death fork? Naaaah!!
A Phil Wood BB will allow you to adjust the chain line for an easy double to triple conversion. My Mirella went the required additional 5mm on the drive side no problem. The crank was Campy Record with a Red Clover triplizer middle ring. FWIW, I was told that the TA triplizer you used was the model for the Red Clover Components version, but it looks like the old Willow tripleizer.

I've got a 130bcd, 135 and 110 versions. They all work great with the right bb. Really terrific problem solvers.

top506 I can confirm that jonwvara used a TA triplizer to model the Red Clover 144 BCD triplizer, because I loaned him mine for the design. It's the one I run on my Campagnolo Schwinn Super Sport.

Interesting.
I continue to be amazed at the flexibility of those old school front and rear derailleurs.
Couple of years ago used a Dura Ace 7400 FD & RD to shift a 50/28 crankset with a 13-28 freewheel- that’s 37 teeth of wrap and a 20 tooth chainring difference!

As Pastor Bob noted, the Red Clover Components 144 triplizer is closely modeled after the now-defunct TA version. Thanks, Bob!

Willow Triplizers are out of production, but I can authoritatively report that Red Clover Components triplizers are still being made and are available--both the 144 BCD Campagnolo Record version and the 122 BCD Stronglight style. I also have 37-tooth standard rings for use with Stronglight doubles (or for conventional triples where a 37-tooth provides a low enough gear).
As Pastor Bob noted, the Red Clover Components 144 triplizer is closely modeled after the now-defunct TA version. Thanks, Bob!

that is what I figured out, found a new TA on German site and ordered... less of a pain than switching the dura ace over to campy i should just leave alone, but want to get the look on the 84 team miyata back closer to original and have a bailout 30 front and the 105 painted triple while working beautifully does not have the look

Your picture above is the only time I've seen another triplizer like this one.

I'm running the 130 BCD TA triplizer on my '83 Paramount. I like my low gears!

Jim who? I've always wondered who made my first triplizer. IIRC i bought it on ebay back in 2005 or 2006. It has no branding. Also, the BCD on the small chainring is not standard (I forget what I determined it to be). It is a 31T and I've never been able to locate a replacement.
Your picture above is the only time I've seen another triplizer like this one.

I'll reach out to Jim.
