Nice ride. I love the Nautilus side, which is plenty steep itself towards the top. At some point, make sure you swing a right at Muirlands and ride through there - really nice views of the ocean and calm, fancy neighboorhood roads to cruise through.

Also, you can take Lamont/Soledad Road all the way up to Soledad Mountain road where it makes a T most of the way to the top. The view from Kate Sessions Park of downtown SD is an iconic San Diego panorama.

woo, big day, did a late zwift race, 251w NP for an hour (IF 0.97) and set a new 60min high avg power of 248 (previous high was 238 on tuesday). Oh and I finished 2nd/10, podium! lol (ok, so I think maybe the competition was less stiff as some other events)

It's a beautiful Saturday and I am sitting around watching TV. Whatever caused my Pink Eye has landed in my chest, so I skipped my planned workout.

I'd like to thank the soccer tournament organizers for killing my Saturday. It takes real skill to schedule two 60' games just far apart enough use up the entire fricking day.

One more week of easy riding; it feels like most of my body has adapted. There were points I was wondering if I'll be able to ride with real volume again.

Some ahole killed and skinned a dog, leaving it for public display in the middle of the bike trail.

ugh i can't even...

first time outside in maybe a month? 3:45, 66 miles, 204 TSS. Maybe someone can chime in, but I think my lack of riding above threshold whilst inside shows up outside when I go over threshold on climbs, felt the burn in the legs along the way

I need to start riding with other people.

Having a very hard time motivating myself to suffer of late.

Is there a dating-like app for cyclists looking for other cyclists to ride with? I want to ride with 3-4 people who want to kick each others' teeth in, on the dirt, at least once a week. It seems like most MTB group rides spend just as much time standing around waiting as riding.

"Super ****ty but still kind of fast 'pro' MTB racer seeks other, likeminded, kind of fast MTB racers for group ride" on Craiglist? I think I might get some weird responses.

There's a ton of tweakers and sketchy types living in the Santa Ana River storm drains, overpasses, and groves; so yeah, it was probably one of those nutjobs.

That's definitely not a safe area; its far from home (10 miles) but close to work. It only seems to have issues at night though.

There was another dog on the trail today with a broken neck? Its eyes were moving but nothing else. I stayed near it for a few and called 911. It may have been hit by a bike.

Weird two days.

Next month I'll go out of rehab and into actual training and I'm really looking forward to doing real rides.

You could try stalking people on strava to decide who fits your profile and then contacting them via comments. People have done this with me a couple of times.

there's a bunch of traffic work going on in my town, creating a ton of backup in the morning, so after I dropped my son off at school and saw that another car route was moving slowly, I just dropped off at home and got my hybrid and rode to the train stop. took me 7 mins to ride 1.5 miles, who knows how long by car, maybe 10-15? Although my train was delayed and the amount of time it took to wait and get into the office is probably the same or more than if I were to just bring my bike into the city. these days I only commute 2 days a week, and it's possible in a few months that I'll be working exclusively from home

Current training status: no ****s given. Had a great ride with a couple of teammates yesterday. Hung out on their wheels while they did 5x10' threshold intervals. Popped out a couple times on the final two to provide a rabbit for them toward the end, otherwise didn't work that hard. Really enjoyable in the mild fall weather that's finally arriving. Finished off with excellent coffee and a fantastic breakfast sandwich. Wednesday evening I've got a cx race, Saturday evening we hop on a plane across the Atlantic. I'll care about training again sometime in mid-late October, maybe.

Fun team ride up in the Whites yesterday. TKP was part of the shenanigans. All of us got our heads beaten in by our new teammate who is a REAL climber and is a brand new Cat 3. It was embarrassing being a Cat 1 getting smashed by a Cat 3. It was certainly motivation to lose some weight this off-season. I feel good that I was atleast able to keep him in sight up the climbs.
