Los Angeles 5-Year Plan To Add 200 Miles of Bike Lanes
I just saw this article. Will it be possible to venture east of the 405 without getting doored or run off the road after this is complete?

It still looks like they're pretty clumpy, so they're putting a ton of bike lanes/paths/routes near downtown, but good luck getting there from anywhere else. IMO we need some sort of bike artery to get from one area of LA to another. That whole area east of the proposed paths is just a big huge barrier to bike riding (I live in Whittier, so that's my perspective of course)

My brother lives in Hollywood and while I haven't ridden there it looks pretty bike unfriendly from Westwood all the way to downtown LA. One time I was staying at his place for a few days and brought my bike but I was too terrified to ride around there Maybe once this project is complete you'll actually be able to get from the beach to downtown via bike. If they're sacrificing traffic lanes along that corridor for bike lanes it's going to make driving even rougher. They already started a project along Wilshire to convert a traffic lane to a bus-only lane during rush hour(s).

There are certain to be a lot of voices speaking out against this plan. I intend to send some hand-written letters in support of it.
Does anyone have the names of the councilmen, representatives or other influential planners that won't throw away letters coming from someone outside of Los Angeles?
